With most non-essential offices closed around the globe, working from home is no longer a benefit or perk but the norm. So if you’re looking for a new job or side gig, here are 10 jobs you can do from home (and as a side benefit, when we get through this difficult time, performing these jobs now can boost your resume later).
If you’re a wordsmith or editor, there are many writing jobs that you can do at home, including copywriting. With a copywriting job, you can write about topics you’re already knowledgeable in or write about topics that require research. Everything online needs to be written, from landing pages to product descriptions. Copywriters perform that writing and get paid for their time.
Do grammatical errors drive you crazy? Are you constantly spotting mistakes in articles? If so, you could be the perfect proofreader. You’ll get to catch mistakes in other people’s writing, and if you’re someone who does this already, you’ll be paid for the privilege. If you search for proofreading roles online, you’ll find that there are always people and companies looking for proofreading skills.
3. Graphic Designer
If you’re a designer with an eye for color and graphics, you could work as a graphic designer from your home. With freedom and creativity, you could work for a company or individuals needing graphics. You could even sell your very own prints on marketplace platforms.
4. Virtual Assistant
More and more businesses are operating entirely online, so they’re always looking for virtual assistants to help keep everything organized and to manage administrative tasks. With this kind of role, you might be responding to emails, distributing documents, responding to business inquiries, and much more.

Managing social media accounts can be a great job to do from home. If you’re up on your social media platforms and current trends, taking control of the social media of a business could be right up your alley.
Doing transcriptions is an excellent job for someone with no experience. If you’ve got good hearing and you can type, you could work from home doing transcriptions.
