The economy is seeing more ups and downs than a Great Adventure rollercoaster ride, leaving many confused about how to get their job search into the next gear. If you have been wondering how to get a foot in the door to network with some of the top employers in the financial services sector, wonder no more.
Fresh off the success of its 6 in Los Angeles and Washington D.C., Vault.com is continuing its momentum with a focus on the finance industry and its first-ever Diversity Recruiting Expo in New York City on Friday, September 23, 2011, at the Eventi, A Kimpton Hotel, 851 Avenue Of The Americas.
The Vault Diversity Recruiting Expo will provide minority, female, GLBT, veterans, and candidates with disabilities the opportunity to meet and network with recruiters from companies and government agencies, including the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, Grupo BBVA, Lazard, Navigant Consulting, and PNC Bank, among others, who are firmly committed to increasing diversity in the financial services sector. Employers will be looking to hire undergraduate and MBA candidates, and veterans for positions in finance, accounting, engineering, operations, IT and management.
The event is free to all candidates. However, guests must register and submit their resume in order to attend. In addition to a recruiting hall, where guests will have the opportunity to network with recruiters, there is an opportunity for candidates to be selected for on-site interviews. Employers will have access to the resume database prior to the event to select candidates that they wish to meet with. Candidates will be notified if they are selected for an interview. Bring those resumes and bring several copies. Printing stations will be available at the site so candidates can print additional copies.
The event will also feature an awards luncheon where banks will be honored for their commitment to diversity. Awards will be presented to the top three banking employers for diversity in respect to minorities; in respect to women; and in respect to GLBT. In addition, awards will also be presented to banking employers who showed a commitment to overall diversity at their firms (check out last year's winners). The luncheon will provide minority, female, GLBT, veterans, and candidates with disabilities direct access to banking executives and a plethora of networking opportunities. Therefore, seating is limited and a separate registration is required to attend.
Doors will open at 8:30 a.m. with the Recruiting Hall open from 9 a.m. to noon. The Recruiting Hall will close for the one hour lunch and awards presentation and will re-open from 1 – 4 p.m.
