All eyes and ears will be on the Global Conference on Sustainability and Transparency being held later this week in Amsterdam. Besides several great speakers and panels lined up for the three-day conference, the event is expected to produce a diversity of perspectives, analysis and commentary on corporate responsibility and its ascent on the priority ladder for companies.

Some of the more interesting panels include "The future of reporting: Do Accountants Get it?" and "Learn How Reporting Drives Gender Equality." Also part of the lineup is accounting giant Deloitte, who is scheduled to showcase its latest business simulation game as part of the Deloitte 20/20 series. Calling it a "Monopoly on steroids," the Big Four blog describes it further as a game that has been "designed to accelerate the implementation of corporate responsibility and sustainability initiatives via stakeholder engagement and development of leadership capabilities."

Fun and games aside, the conference promises to throw realistic light on the progress, or the lack thereof, in corporate responsibility as well as capture international insights on how it is developing and maturing not only as a distinct corporate practice but also as a necessary reporting tool, connecting operations and sustainability. Stay tuned for commentary on trending topics from the conference and how they relate to your career.
