Today's feast of glorious consulting news is more of a paltry snack.
The day's main course—blizzard in New York aside—comes from the folks at Towers Watson (remember, Towers Perrin + Watson Wyatt = Towers Watson), who completed their acquisition of Aliquant, a "full-service health and welfare benefits administration outsourcing firm." Never heard of them? Of course you haven't! But if last year's revenue is to be considered, Aliquant should add over $30 million to Towers Watson's bottom line when all is said and done. Aliquant's roughly 200 consultants now fall under the Towers Watson umbrella, as do firm offices in Connecticut, Michigan, Ohio, Oregon and Pennsylvania.
In other news, CIS Consulting, which calls itself "one of the largest construction accounting, consulting and software resellers in the U.S.," has broken up, selling all of its assets and resources to several former partners and clients across the country. CIS was based in Charlotte, NC and provided IT services, sales, and advice for 23 years before economic pressures rang the death knell.
That about does it for the day (and the week). Happy Friday.
