Occupation Profile
Environmental Analysts
Many companies and corporations employ environmental analysts to conduct research, evaluate environmental regulations, analyze policy developments and write reports to ensure compliance with state and federal environmental laws. These analysts can assess issues across the board, from erosion control to water and air pollution, wetlands protection, coastal zone permitting and storm water management. They must possess extensive knowledge of environmental regulations and resource protection as well as a keen familiarity with all applicable state guidelines and permitting processes.
As environmental laws become stricter, more and more companies are hiring environmental analysts to provide the data and recommendations needed to meet current environmental standards.
