Mobiquity, a new mobile computing consultancy, is launched
Bill Seibel, who was on the founding team of Cambridge Technology Partners (CTP) and will become Mobiquity's chief executive officer (CEO). Dr. Scott Snyder, who served as president of Breakthru Advisors and chief executive officer (CEO) and president of Decision Strategies International, will become Mobiquity's president and chief strategy officer.
According to Seibel, tablets and other mobile devices are quickly replacing laptops and traditional desktop devices.
"To fully unlock the potential of emerging wireless technologies and applications, forward-looking companies must reframe mobility from just 'extended connectivity' to a platform for innovation and competitive advantage. Helping businesses capitalize on these opportunities is Mobiquity's mission," he added.
According to the Boston Globe, the firm intends to have 22 employees in Providence, Philadelphia and Marlborough, Massachusetts by the end of April. Seibel told the news source that the company has already attracted $5 million in first round funding as well as three clients in the retail, airline, and financial services sectors.
