Intel to provide consulting to renewable energy company
MiaSole, produces copper indium gallium selenide (CIGS) thin-film photovoltaic solar panels, and now will receive consulting help from the Technical Manufacturing Services practice at Intel.
Brian Krzanich, senior vice president and general manager of Manufacturing and Supply Chain at Intel, said that the agreement will help the energy company.
"The engagement is part of Intel's broader strategy to partner promising high tech innovation with Intel's world class manufacturing and Copy Exactly! methodology. This will enable companies like MiaSole to scale to high volume manufacturing cheaper, faster, and better," he said.
Energy consulting, along with manufacturing consulting, are important to MiaSole. It is hoped that the agreement with Intel will allow the company to increase its production and provide more people with renewable energy solutions.
"The best technology manufacturer on the planet is now teaching us what it means to be world-class," MiaSole CEO Dr. Joseph Laia said.
MiaSole plans to ramp up its production over the next two years.
