HP expands IT consulting services

HP recently expanded its IT consulting offerings by announcing the creation of HP Strategic IT Advisory Services.

The new service will help company's use IT to not only drive innovation and growth but to increase profits as well.

Specifically, those who choose to team with HP and utilize the new service will create an effective IT strategy that will help companies improve their businesses while still meeting the needs of clients. In addition, HP Strategic IT Advisory Services will help companies by using such techniques as hybrid delivery strategy and business benefits analysis.

Ken McGee, vice president of analyst firm Gartner, said that IT will be essential to a variety of businesses in the coming decade.

"Our research shows that by 2016, innovation accomplishments will be among the top three selection criteria for new CIOs," he said. "This trend is indicative of the extent to which IT will be so closely aligned with enterprise goals that it is the key driver in growth and profitability. To get to this future state, IT must move from supporting to empowering the enterprise."
