FTI Consulting in talks to acquire parts of LECG Corporation

FTI Consulting, a global business consulting firm, recently announced that it is in talks with the management of LECG Corporation to acquire specific parts of the company. FTI has not announced anything further about these talks, but has stated that the company will announce if the acquisition will be taking place or if no arrangement is agreed upon.

The West Palm Beach, Florida-based global business advisory firm has more than 3,600 employees worldwide, and its consultants help clients with business issues such as litigation, mergers and acquisitions, regulation, restructuring and reputation management.

Reuters reports that the Pennsylvania-based LECG Corporation was in other talks with an undisclosed company as recently as February 7th for the acquisition of the entire firm. LECG conducts economic, accounting, financial and statistical analyses. The company's clients include Fortune Global 500 corporations, AmLaw 11 law firms, government agencies and middle-market firms. Founded in 1988, LECG currently has approximately 1100 employees in 33 global locations, and has clients in the Americas, Europe, and Asia and the Pacific.
