Eco-consulting firm introduces line of LED lightbulbs

The green energy consulting company Green Irene LLC, which assists homeowners and businesses achieve environmentally friendly energy efficiency, has recently announced that it is launching its own line of more than 40 varieties of light-emitting diode (LED) light bulbs.

Though these bulbs may have higher initial costs, they offer savings in the long run, Green Irene LLC says, as they can last 50,000 hours - 50 times as long as traditional, incandescent bulbs. The consulting company, which has 650 consultants across 50 states, also says its line not only offers an improvement over incandescent, halogen and fluorescent bulbs, but it addresses problems with other LED bulbs of earlier generations.

"Bulbs that last for 50,000 hours mean tremendous financial savings, fewer old bulbs going into landfills, and a lot less time on a ladder changing incandescent bulbs every 1,000 hours," said Green Irene chief executive officer (CEO) PJ Stafford.

According to Property Magazine, the unveiling of the Green Irene energy-efficient lighting brand comes in the wake of legislation passed in South Carolina by a 76-20 vote that encourages firms to manufacture LED bulbs.
