CPA firm weaver acquires energy consulting company
Hawthorne employs staff with expertise in meeting energy clients' regulatory compliance needs. The consulting company also offers operational support services, according to the Houston Business Journal.
"With the growing regulatory burden facing the petroleum and renewable fuels industries, the addition of Hawthorne staff gives us the much-needed ability to expand the scope of our consulting services," said Wade Watson, leader of the renewable energy compliance practice at Weaver.
Tom Hawthorne, the president of the energy consulting firm, will reportedly work in Weaver's renewable energy and compliance department in the CPA firm's Houston office. The rest of Hawthorne's staff will also be transferring to the new location, according to the news source.
The value of the acquisition was reportedly not revealed by Weaver.
In 2010, the CPA firm acquired Bank Advisory Resources, a boutique consulting firm based in Houston, Texas, the Journal reports.
