We don't hear any gripes about Portland. In fact, associates in the city contest that "Portland and the Pacific Northwest in general are unparalleled in terms of natural beauty, opportunities for outdoors activity and cleanliness." Whether they're gazing at mountains, rose gardens, active volcanoes or trekking to the beach, attorneys practicing in the area aren't in the market for a new 'hood. "I have lived here most of my life and plan to live here the rest of it," an associate vows. And that's not a particularly exaggerated claim, either; from what we hear, "Oregon is the greatest state in the country."
John Denver told us all about Colorado and its Rocky Mountain high, but that was awhile ago. Still, most associates practicing in the Mile-High City praise its superior scenery and comfortable quality of life. And hey, what's not to love? Mountains, dry air, plenty of snowfall and the Denver Broncos. We're intrigued. "I'm from Denver and after leaving for awhile, I decided it was the place for me," one returnee shares. A native "stayed here for the mountains and because Denver is a nice-sized city." Getting into more superlative declarations, we're told that it's the "best place in America to live."
