In addition to ranking other firms in terms of prestige, survey respondents were asked to rate their own firms in a variety of categories. On a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being the highest and 1 the lowest, respondents evaluated their firms in the following quality of life areas:

Compensation
Work/life balance
Hours in the office
Formal training
Interaction with clients
Relationships with supervisors
Firm culture
Travel requirements
Offices
A firm's score in each category is simply the average of these rankings. In compiling our quality of life rankings, we only ranked firms from whose consultants we received 10 or more responses for a particular question. Only consulting firms that distributed the Vault survey to their consultants were ranked. Firms that distributed the survey this year are:
