Breakthrough Collaborative Internship Profile

Established in 1978, Breakthrough Collaborative is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping underserved middle school students pursue successful paths to college. Through a “students teaching students model,” the organization recruits college and high school students to teach middle-schoolers. The curriculum is demanding and rigorous, preparing the middle school students for entrance into college-prep high schools. Breakthrough assists more than 5,000 students each year across 33 affiliate locations. The organization has strategic partnerships with various organizations, including Aspire Teacher Residency, MATCH Teacher Residency, and Teach For America.
