The company serves about 53 million consumer and small business relationships and has clients in over 150 countries. In 2007, the company acquired Countrywide Financial, and in 2009 Bank of America acquired Merrill Lynch. The addition of these two companies has made Bank of America the largest provider of financial services in the world.
