The Scoop

Whirlpool Corporation is the world’s leading manufacturer and marketer of major home appliances, such as washers and dryers, refrigerators, dishwashers, ranges, cooktops and KitchenAid portable appliances. The company has annual sales of nearly $20 billion, more than 70,000 employees and nearly 70 manufacturing and technology research centers around the world. It markets Whirlpool, Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Brastemp and other major brand names to consumers in nearly every country around the world.

On the Job

Interns are placed throughout Whirlpool in all functions, including marketing, finance, supply chain (procurement and logistics), manufacturing, engineering, global consumer design, communications, human resources, sales, customer service and information systems. Each participant is given a high level of responsibility, access to senior and executive leaders and individual coaching and mentoring. Interns are also invited to participate in weekend trips, professional development programs and social activities. About 70 percent of the intern class get offered full-time positions upon graduation.

Qualifications:

Open to students completing their sophomore or junior years of college or first year of graduate school. Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.0. Non-U.S. citizens are eligible.
