Part of the Capital Fellows Program, the Jesse M. Unruh Assembly Fellowship Program offers participants the chance to work within the Capitol offices of California Assembly Members. The fellowship was created in 1957, and in 1987, it was renamed in honor of Jesse Marvin Unruh, former Assembly Speaker and State Treasurer of California. It is sponsored by the California State Assembly and California State University.
