Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. Internship Profile

The Scoop
Walmart was founded in 1962 when Sam Walton opened his first store in Rogers, Arkansas. Today, it is one of the largest megastore retailers in the world, employing over 2.1 million people at more than 8,692 facilities and making $405 billion in 2010 sales. Although Walmart was the focus of a scathing film, Wal-Mart: The High Cost of Low Price, the company has done substantial work in corporate social responsibility, sustainability and philanthropy, earning it the No. 1 spot in Fortune’s 2009 list of Most Admired Companies.
