Merck & Co., Inc. was established in 1891 as a subsidiary of E. Merck, a German company that was founded in the 1600s. With billions in revenue, the health care company offers a variety of health products, including household names like Claritin, Coppertone, and Dr. Scholl’s; medications for animals; prescription drugs; and vaccines. Merck also engages in research and innovation to develop medicine and vaccines.

On the Job

Merck hires interns and co-ops into the Merck Future Talent Program, which offers participants hands-on experience supporting the company’s cross-divisional needs. Interns work in a range of areas. from research laboratories to manufacturing plants to operations. Examples of intern responsibilities include preparing and delivering presentations, collecting and analyzing data, performing experiments, researching, and supporting specific departments.
