Habitat for Humanity International is a nonprofit Christian organization that has built more than 300,000 houses worldwide since its founding in 1976. Habitat employees, volunteers and partner families build a house and then sell it to low-income families at no profit. Using this model, the organization has provided adequate and affordable shelter for more than 1.5 million people in more than 3,000 communities. Habitat affiliates are located in all 50 states and in 93 countries around the world.
