The Connecticut Judicial Branch is comprised of 13 judicial districts with 201 authorized judgeships. The Judicial Branch is overseen by the Chief Justice of the Connecticut Supreme Court. The system includes the Supreme Court (Connecticut’s highest court), the Appellate Court, and the Superior Court--which hears civil, criminal, family, and juvenile matters. Its mission is “to serve the interests of justice and the public by resolving matters brought before it in a fair, timely, efficient and open manner.”
