Essay Question:
The Fisher College of Business MBA program places a heavy emphasis on building teams. What from your past demonstrates your leadership, your ability to work with others and your skill at resolving conflict?
'What can I do to prove, that my team is the best performing team?' - This is the thought I always carried when in a team. I have proved to be a valuable team player and the following experiences will explain the same. When I joined Hewlett-Packard, I was first trained on using the Support tool that is also called the Billing and Logistics Tracking Tool (BLT). Two trainers had come to India from Germany and Singapore to provide this training. Subsequently, the management team was planning to hire a contractor to provide support and training for the BLT Tool. They were also planning to send the newly hired contractor to Germany to learn more about the BLT Tool. It was then that I had some spare time and I took that opportunity to expand my knowledge on the BLT tool. I played around with the BLT tool and then started training other new employees on the same. The management team was highly impressed on my initiative and my self-learning capabilities. They decided to make me the champion for the BLT Tool. The contractor who was initially hired for this purpose was then trained on a new application and absorbed into the company payroll as a permanent employee. From this experience, I learnt that sharing knowledge is as important as gaining knowledge. I learnt more as I trained new employees and that helped me gain confidence to be the single point of contact and champion for the BLT tool. Yet another experience that I can recollect is the arrangement I made for a fun trip to a jungle resort. One of my friends wrote a mail to the group about organizing a trip to a jungle resorts. I volunteered to help him organize the trip and I worked in making the arrangements for the trip. When we started with the planning only a few had volunteered to come. Subsequently I called the entire group for a meeting and presented them a brief overview of all the fun they would be missing if they decided not to come. The response we got after the presentation was amazing. We had the entire team joining us for the trip and it was a tough task to make all the arrangements. The trip turned out to be a great success and all of them appreciated our teamwork in making the trip a memorable one. In this case, my friend who had first initiated was happy to have someone offer equal support in making the arrangements. Also, he was not comfortable in communicating to the mass and I played that role very effectively. I learnt that working in tandem with your team to offer support at the appropriate time will help to reach the set goals. In my opinion, a good team will comprise of highly motivated individuals who share the positive attitude for bringing success to the team.

Essay Question:
What are your short-term and long-term goals? How will a Fisher MBA help you achieve these goals?
At this point of time in life I have a choice to either grow up on the managerial ladder or to grow up on the technical ladder. The choice is definitely mine. I personally want to grow up on the managerial ladder because I have a flair for the same and my qualities will help me to perform better in that role. In order to pave way for this choice, I need to learn more which is driving me towards Fisher MBA. I personally believe that Management techniques are a set of studied, proven processes which when followed will yield the expected results. A person can learn the same by experience. Instead what we try to achieve through a management course is to leverage the knowledge level by case studies and workshops thereby preparing to face the real Business challenges. At Fisher, I expect to learn from both the faculties and people across different cultures and expertise in different fields. The Fisher experience will help me get ready to take on the world. I am sure to contribute equally to make the MBA experience a truly life changing experience. On successfully completing my MBA at Fisher, I desire to land in a job that will involve a lot of customer interaction, preferably in an IT industry where my past experience will work in tandem to pave way to become the highly motivated Business Professional. I admire Carly Fiorina for the motivation she offers to her employees and wish to deliver the same level of motivation as a leader in my chosen field. Moving further up the management ladder, I would like to see myself as the Chief Executive Officer of one of the fortune 500 companies. In my path towards leadership, I would like to focus on two important points. 'Making a difference' will be my first focus point and of course, the difference will be for the better. I will be on the lookout for new and better ways to deliver what my customer wants. 'Technology' is my second focus point that will ensure my success as a Business Professional. Having served in a Technology driven company like Hewlett-Packard, I realize the necessity for being a leader in technology. All this is just a dream today, but I am sure to live the same dreams tomorrow and my application to Fisher MBA is my first step in living my dream.

Essay Question:
If you are applying for admission to our program without 3 years of post-baccalaureate work experience, what unique contributions can you make to the class? (required of all applicants applying to our program without 3 years of post-baccalaureate work experience).
You talk to me and you will feel the joy and energy radiating from me. You take a step further and speak your heart and you will know that there is a good friend in me whom you can trust for life. If you strike upon an idea and share it with me, I will help you plan, execute and live your dream. I am a person full of joy and confidence in all that I do and say. Please visit http://www20.brinkster.com/mlbharathwaj/ to learn more about me. The following qualities of mine will convince that I can contribute a lot to the success of my class at Ohio. From my childhood days, I have exhibited strong leadership qualities and took initiatives to drive the show. When doing so, I took care not to stop anyone else from taking the lead. Instead, I worked in tandem with that person to achieve the common goal. During my seventh grade in school, I represented the class and took up extra efforts to get accolades for the class. Further, during my undergraduate studies, I was the Students Organizer and Hostel Representative. At Hewlett-Packard Company, I took my extra time to self learn the Support Tools and Processes which made me the Champion for Support Tools and Processes. The second quality that I am proud of is my organizational skills. My day typically begins with a documentation of all that I need to do for the day. In this process of allocating tasks for the day, I follow priorities that form a very important role in Time Management. Failing to prioritize and execute the most important tasks first will lead to the task not being executed at all. We can compare it to the story of filling stones and sand into a pitcher. If we fill sand first into a pitcher, we will not have space to fill the large stones. Here the stones are the higher priority task and sand is the lower priority task. Helping someone in need is human. To find the needy and help them is something that I practice. I am a proud trustee member of a Non profit Organization called Dewdrops. Each of us who belong to the Dewdrops family is fondly called 'Dew'. I lead the Bangalore chapter for Dewdrops and am responsible for managing the projects initiated by the Bangalore Dews. My most recent accomplishment as a member of Dewdrops was the successful completion of the website project. Please take time to visit: http://www.vrdewdrops.org/ I am sure that my above-mentioned qualities will suffice for the lack of post-baccalaureate work experience if any and help me achieve my goals.
