At O'Melveny, we provide opportunities for the best and brightest lawyers to do the most sophisticated and exciting legal work available. From private equity transactions in New York to antitrust litigation in Tokyo, from high-technology work in Silicon Valley to constitutional litigation in the US Supreme Court, our practice spans the globe and, at the same time, helps our local communities.
We are committed to uncompromising excellence in our legal work. O’Melveny & Myers LLP has been named to The American Lawyer’s 2010 A-List, which recognizes the nation’s most elite law firms for stellar performance in the areas of revenue generation, pro bono commitment, associate satisfaction, and diversity representation. This is the Firm’s third consecutive year on the list of 20 firms judged best at balancing the practice of law with their obligations to the profession. These kinds of awards reflect the quality of our lawyers, who benefit from one of the most innovative talent development programs to be found in any law firm. Our clients recognize as much. As an attorney at Ford Motor Company told The American Lawyer, "O'Melveny is the most talented firm overall I've dealt with in 25 years as a lawyer for Ford."
For generations, O'Melveny has provided distinctive leadership to the profession, our local communities, and the nation. We count among our colleagues a former Secretary of State, a former Secretary of Transportation, a former White House Counsel, a former Solicitor General, a former FTC Chairman, and other lawyers who have left their marks in the history books. The rising generation carries on these traditions, providing leadership to the American Constitution Society, the Federalist Society, the American Law Institute, and similar organizations.
What matters most is that O'Melveny offers a rewarding career, top-tier work, and a supportive team of talented people with whom you'll actually enjoy working. We're looking for bright, personable individuals with creative ideas and a strong desire to learn and excel. If you fit that description, we invite you to consider joining us.

Community Spirit
Law firms are defined by the values they espouse and the clients they serve. O'Melveny's commitment to excellent client service extends well beyond corporate boardrooms to the underrepresented segments of society, through its vibrant and award-winning Pro Bono practice. Under the Firm’s Pro Bono Initiative, new lawyers in all US offices are required to handle at least one pro bono matter in their first year at the Firm. Each partner is expected to supervise at least one pro bono matter every year, and all attorneys are encouraged to perform at least 50 hours of pro bono work annually. There is no cap on the amount of time that O'Melveny lawyers may spend on pro bono matters, and all pro bono hours count toward minimum hours requirements.
In keeping with its obligation to be a responsible citizen of the communities in which its lawyers practice, O'Melveny launched its Green Office Initiative in 2007 to conserve resources and reduce its carbon footprint. The Firm is among the first law firms to achieve compliance with the ABA-EPA Law Office Climate Challenge Best Paper Practices program. All US offices met the program's goals in 2007.
