Known in some circles as the enfant terrible of the advertising industry, Hal Riney is also one of the most celebrated creatives in the country.  Riney, who passed away in March 2008, was responsible for building the West Coast’s first 100 percent homegrown national advertising agency.  Today, the ad agency that bears his name (the Publicis part was integrated in 1998) is ranked in the upper quartile among 900 agencies as reported by Advertising Age, with clients that include SanDisk, U.S. Cellular, Wal-Mart and Beam Spirits.  Publicis & Hal Riney (P&HR) conducts a variety of activities on behalf of its clients, including branding, creative development, strategy, production, new product development, employee communications and marketing (co-op, field or mobile).
