Getting HiredTips from the insideHiring overviewThe Bureau’s recruitment website has job listings and other employment information. The FBI hires into two main divisions: special agents and professional support personnel, such as lab technicians and language experts. A candidate for a special agent position must be a U.S. citizen between the ages of 23 and 37 with a bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college, university, or resident program, and an advanced degree or three years of relevant work experience—though the FBI will waive the experience requirement for certain qualified candidates (for instance, these days fluency in Asian languages is a big help).
