ABOUT THIS COMPANY:
Bottle's upCoca-Cola Enterprises is a franchise of the larger Coca-Cola Company, in charge of producing and distributing those classic hourglass shaped bottles and red cans worldwide. The original bottling business began in 1899, after two Chattanooga, Tenn.-based entrepreneurs, Benjamin F. Thomas and Joseph B. Whitehead, were granted exclusive rights to bottle and sell Coca-Cola products in the U.S. from the company. Thomas and Whitehead joined with fellow Chattanoogan John T. Lupton, and began handing out franchise rights for bottling Coke products to entrepreneurs across the country.
