Putting their Hertz into their work

Sources report that Hertz's hiring process is fairly relaxed. "The interview was very sales and customer service oriented. 'Describe a time when you had to deal with an irate customer.' Other than that it is very corporate," says one management trainee. "Only one interview with the general manager," says another. "Hertz/Enterprise and many other rental companies are renowned for their management training programs," notes one hire enrolled in the program. Another management trainee adds, "My duties were varied, and I had to adjust to each situation, from answering the ringing phones, renting cars to customers, picking up and dropping off customers at hotels and auto repair shops, getting oil changes for cars, and & vacuuming and washing cars by hand."

One can create a personal profile to make the online application process a little easier. However, the job search function is a bit inconvenient -- while one can narrow down the selections by keyword, function or location, sometimes the display of available positions is limited to 10 at a time.
