Constellation Energy Group Inc. (CEG) comprises several high-performing divisions that address different markets in the energy industry. The generation group produces 60 million megawatt hours of electricity annually from a wide variety of sources, including nuclear, natural gas, oil and coal, biomass, geothermal, and solar. Its headquarters is located in Baltimore, Md., and it has power plants in California, New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, Kentucky, Indiana, Nevada and Utah. The company provides energy consulting, management and other services for businesses, industry segments and municipalities. As of the third quarter of 2009, CEG has generated revenue of $3.16 billion and net income of $137.6 million.

One source at CEG says getting into the company “is not easy.” For most positions, you can expect multiple rounds of interviews. A contact mentions that there were two interview rounds “similar to what you would have interviewing for an investment bank.” The same contact adds that “most interviews had a few brain teasers,” and that the interviewers “made sure you knew what was on your resume, but they didn’t grill you like some companies do.” On the other hand, one insider reports that there were “three rounds of interviews, not including the initial short phone screen with HR.”
