The young and the restless

One intern, who says Amazon "does not put much emphasis on dress code or work schedule," adds, "There is a lot of fun in the culture, but it varies by group, and everyone is expected to work hard and efficiently at all times." Sources say Amazon is a "pretty young company" and that "since Amazon is such a new company, there are a lot of senior managers who have risen extremely fast."

Mike Daisey's book 21 Dog Years: A Cube Dweller's Tale describes the author's experiences working for the company in late 1990s. The book is, of course, for sale on Amazon.com.
