Based in Arlington, Va., FBR offers a full range of investment banking, institutional brokerage, and asset management services. In addition to headquarters in the Washington, D.C.-metropolitan area, the firm has U.S. offices in Boston, Houston, Irvine, New York, and San Francisco; an international outpost is maintained in London. At its inception, FBR (formerly known as FBR Capital Markets) set out to deliver research on a select group of industries. The firm has since expanded its capabilities, and today concentrates on eight industries: consumer goods, diversified industrials, energy and natural resources, financial institutions, health care, insurance, real estate, and technology, media, and telecommunications.
