1920s firm rises to No. 22
Formerly known as MR Weiser, New York-based Weiser LLP was founded in 1921. Today, the firm has four offices in the metro-New York area, and a staff of over 600 that includes certified public accountants, certified financial planners and personal financial specialists. Weiser came in at No. 22 on Accounting Today's 2009 Top 100 Firms list, which ranks firms by U.S. revenue.
Weiser specializes in services for businesses as well as private clients, and has industry expertise in apparel and textile, construction, emerging technologies, family business, financial services, food services, health care, international business, manufacturing, nonprofit, professional services, real estate, retail and restaurants, textile rental, and wholesale and distribution. It also offers services to high-net-worth individuals and, like most financial services firms, has developed Sarbanes-Oxley compliance services in the years since 2002's legislative changes.
