Shooting for the middle

The firm's culture generally gets good marks from employees, and one insider describes the culture as a "middle-market mentality." "Most partners are ex-Big Eight, Six or Four," comments a source. The firm calls its compensation "market competitive" (and sources agree), and includes an array of benefits and perks, including health and dental care, 401(k), life insurance, long-term disability, a dependent care plan, a flexible spending account, discounts for corporate memberships, and "performance-based salary increases" down the line. Hours are moderate for the industry, according to sources; one insider reports working under 40 hours per week (albeit with frequent weekend hours). Office conditions are good, though not spectacular, and dress code is business casual except where client contact dictates otherwise (and on Casual Fridays).
