One of the 25 largest U.S. accounting firms, Eide Bailly has roots that can be traced to 1917 when John A. “Jack” Cull opened an accounting business in Fargo, N.D. Cull, the seventh man in North Dakota to become a CPA, was later joined by Oliver A. Eide. In 1950, Charles Bailly opened a branch office in Fargo for Broeker Hendrickson. Nearly 40 years later, in 1998, Eide and Bailly finally teamed up. Since then, Eide Bailly has grown into a firm with more than 1,200 staff members and nearly $160 million in annual revenue. Eide Bailly is a member of HLB International, a worldwide network of independent accounting and advisory firms with 500 offices, 14,000 staffers, and 1,900 partners in more than 100 countries. As for Eide Bailly’s services, they include accounting, audit and assurance, cost segregation, employee benefits, enterprise risk management, financial services, forensic and valuation, health care reform, international services, tax services, technology consulting, transaction services, and wealth management. Recently, Eide Bailly elected a new CEO. In December 2012, Eide Bailly announced that Dave Stende, the firm’s chief operating officer, would succeed Jerry Topp on May 1, 2013.
