OUR SURVEY SAYS

Vault’s Verdict: Associates at Chadbourne & Parke would like a little more information; lack of transparency in management and compensation decisions is the top complaint. Still, attorneys here are happy with the high levels of client contact and reasonable hours requirements.

• “I am allowed considerable autonomy to oversee important client responsibilities—much more so than I had expected. I work hard—but the work is interesting, and the opportunity to do this kind of work is unique.”
• “I like the firm and the work is interesting, but the flow of work is very uneven. I'm very busy some weeks and have nothing to do at all other weeks.”
• “I am relatively satisfied with my job given the current economic environment. However, the more senior I get the more I look at the career path ahead of me and am concerned about what options exist for future advancement.”
• “The morale at the firm is very low at the moment. Many associates who didn't make their hours received no bonus whatsoever. Some associates who didn’t make their hours did receive small bonuses, but it is unclear on what basis this was made. This in addition to no spring bonuses has left many feeling underappreciated.”
