Lumbering alongWeyerhaeuser harvests trees (which come from its 6.4 million acres of U.S. timberland and from 12.2 million acres of Canadian forest) for lumber paper manufacturing and general wood products, mostly related to construction. The company employs almost 20,000 people in 13 countries worldwide. In addition to its sylvan interests, Weyerhaeuser owns a Pacific shipping line and a number of real estate assets. A Fortune 200 company, Weyerhaeuser operates in various business segments which include Timberlands (comprises logs, chips and timber), Wood Products (includes softwood lumber, engineered lumber and structural panels, among others), Cellulose Fibers (which makes up pulp and liquid packaging board), Real Estate, and Corporate among others.
