ABOUT THIS COMPANY:
Spinning its wheels
Incorporated in 2000 as a subsidiary of Tyco International and spun off as a separate entity in June 2007, TE Connectivity is a world leader in engineered electronic components, network solutions, wireless systems and undersea telecommunication. With around 96,000 employees producing some 500,000 precision-engineered components for customers in more than 150 countries, the company operates in four segments—the largest of which is electronic components which comprised 74 percent of its 2008 net sales. By comparison, the next-largest segment is network solutions, which accounted for just 15 percent, while the undersea telecommunications and wireless systems wings pulled in 8 and 3 percent respectively. The company is the global market leader, meanwhile, in components for the automotive industry, computers and peripherals, and industrial uses while it is ranked second in component production for telecom and data communications. With these components pulling in some $14.8 billion in sales throughout 2008, the company has never been so popular with its customers.

Getting Hired
Tips from the inside
Slot into place at TE Connectivity
With 96,000 employees worldwide, it should come as little surprise that TE Connectivity maintains a searchable database of available positions on its site which can be found online. The site allows candidates to register, upload a resume for making multiple applications that much easier and also to track previous applications. In addition, the site fills prospective hires in on company values (innovation, integrity, accountability and teamwork), benefits (including details on health care, paid time off and wealth accumulation) and training and development.
