ABOUT THIS COMPANY:

Ed. note: On October 1, 2011, Wildman, Harrold, Allen & Dixon LLP merged with Edwards Angell Palmer & Dodge LLP to form Edwards Wildman Palmer LLP. The profile below refers to the pre-merger Wildman, Harrold, Allen & Dixon LLP.

Roots

Wildman, Harrold, Allen & Dixon was founded as the first spinoff from Kirkland & Ellis and celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2007. It's no secret that the firm had extensive merger discussions with Reed Smith in 2005, though the talks fell through late in the year when conflicts of interest could not be resolved. The firm also streamlined operations by closing its London office. Despite the distractions of merger discussions and internal reorganization, the firm reports that it ended 2005 with its best financial performance in firm history.
