After over a quarter of a century selling tasty gourmet groceries to the American populace, Whole Foods has become the world's largest retailer of natural and organic foods with upwards of 270 stores in Canada, the United Kingdom and the United States. Whole Foods stocks many of the same types of products that other supermarkets do, but in versions that are decidedly natural, healthy and in some cases, certified organic. Stores also feature wine, imported cheese, a sushi bar, full bakery and sweets counter, flower shop and a wide-ranging prepared foods section with a salad bar and steam tables of healthy comfort foods and ethnic specialties priced by the pound.
