Getting Hired
Tips from the inside
Thousands of new positions each yearWith Wal-Mart’s expansion strategy in no danger of running out of steam, the company looks to fill thousands of new positions each year. Wal-Mart refers to its human resources offices as its people division, and each of the company’s major units has its own. However, applicants can send resumes via regular mail, fax or email to the home office, and they will be entered into a central database. With its own sales and marketing force, a vast array of retail business and an information systems division in charge of keeping track of it all, the corporate headquarters needs new recruits from a wide variety of backgrounds.
