Vault's Scoop
ABOUT THIS COMPANY:
Pure playerVirgin Atlantic Airways, jointly owned by Sir Richard Branson and Singapore Airlines, is one of the three largest airlines to ply the North Atlantic airspace. In addition to its New York-London route, it reaches nearly 30 destinations around the globe, including Delhi, Hong Kong, Mauritius, Nairobi, Sydney and Tokyo. The airline has a fleet of 37 planes of recent manufacture, bearing girlish names such as Tubular Belle, Varga Girl and Bubbles. These planes feature three classes of seats: Upper Class, with flat beds, a stand-up bar and other cushy amenities like massages; Premium Economy, which gives customers the option of a larger seat and more Legroom; and economy, which is as you'd expect. All of the seats feature in-flight entertainment like music and movies, as well as multi-player video games, children's entertainment, and SMS and seat-to-seat messaging.
