ABOUT THIS COMPANY:

For a company with nine separate brands and 2,000 styles under its umbrella, there's a remarkably simple way to sum up what Skechers USA is all about: footwear.  In addition to its own brand lines of shoes (which are many and sold everywhere from its branded stores to the Internet), the firm makes and markets shoes to differing sectors of the style-conscious youth demographic under the following brands: SoHo Lab, Unltd. by Marc Ecko, Rhino Red, Red by Marc Ecko, Zoo York, 310 Motoring, Mark Nason and BEBE SPORT footwear.  Skechers doesn't sit comfortably in the athletic shoe category, either—the firm's distinctive designs are definitely more "street" than "track," verge on the affordable side and are marketed at the fickle (but don't say it to their faces) target demographic of 12- to 24-year olds.  That's not the whole story, however, as the firm also produces children's footwear and has also, on occasion, seen its shoes end up on the feet of (gasp!) real-life, fully grown adults.
