Shook Hardy SURVEY SAYS

Vault’s Verdict: Associates at SHB rave about the firm’s unique combination of serious litigators and a positive and collegial atmosphere. Leadership’s decision not to match peer firms’ salary bump in Kansas City was not well-received, however.

Associate Life

Satisfaction
• “The breadth and depth of work, in addition to the friendly and collegial office environment, make me tremendously satisfied.”
• “Work is very challenging with many new and unfamiliar tasks. And there is a lot of it. However I really feel like I am learning how to be a very competent and ethical litigator, which is my goal.”
• “I am very happy at SHB. Instead of being a stepping stone to get me where I want to be, I am fortunate to have begun my career exactly where I hope to end up—at SHB.”
• “Associates, at least in my practice field, get great opportunities here at SHB. Sometimes you have to seek them out, but there is no shortage of good work to go around. The people here are good to work with and make even the tough days seem okay.”
