ABOUT THIS COMPANY:
Up in Wisconsin
Wisconsin-based Schenck is the 46th-largest CPA firm in the U.S. by revenue, according to Accounting Today’s 2012 rankings. Schenck provides a wide variety of services, from accounting and M&A advisory to business valuations and litigation support. Industry focus groups include transportation, retail, financial institutions, small businesses, government, nonprofit agencies, health care, manufacturing, agriculture and dairy, and real estate and construction. Schenck, formerly known as Schenck Business Solutions, began in 1930 as a sole proprietorship run by Willard Schenck. In 1964, Schenck agreed to form a partnership with fellow CPAs Vincent Derscheid, Quentin Kuenzli, and Dan Sturtevant. In 1972, the firm was renamed Schenck, Derscheid, Kuenzli, Sturtevant & Johnson. Schenck expanded during the next few decades, mostly through strategic mergers and acquisitions with fellow Wisconsin firms. In late 2007, Schenck bought Clifton Gunderson’s Green Bay practice, and in 2009, the firm shortened its moniker from Schenck Business Solutions to the simpler Schenck. Today, Schenck is an independent member of AGN International, a worldwide network of approximately 200 accounting and consulting firms in about 90 countries. Schenck employs more than 500 people, including approximately 60 partners.
