Now in its 89th year of operation, Michigan-based Plante Moran is the 11th-largest accounting firm in the United States. Headquartered in Southfield, Mich., a suburb of Detroit, Plante Moran has been on a major growth streak in recent years, adding several hundred staff members and several dozen partners, as well as merging with Chicago-based accounting firm Blackman Kallick in 2012. Today, Plante Moran employs approximately 2,000 people in domestic offices in Illinois, Michigan, and Ohio, and international offices in China, India, and Mexico. The firm is divided into three sectors: accounting and audit, tax, and consulting. Well known for its team-oriented culture, Plante Moran has been named one of metro-Detroit’s “Most Admired Companies” by Crain’s Detroit Business, one of the “18 Great Companies for Millennials” by HRE magazine, and, for numerous years, one of Fortune’s 100 Best Companies to Work For.
