Pharmaceutical giantPfizer is the world’s largest pharmaceutical company in terms of sales. Its biggest-selling prescription drug is cholesterol-lowering Lipitor, which Pfizer gained when it acquired Warner-Lambert in 2000 for a whopping $90 billion. Its other drugs include impotence treatment Viagra. The New York-based firm’s medicines help some 150 million people a year around the world. It also offers health care products for animals ranging from cats to cattle. For fiscal year 2008, the company racked up more than $48 billion in revenue, only a little below its $48.6 billion revenue in 2007.
