(In addition, PG&E buys electrical power from other sources both inside and outside the state for later sale to its clients.) PG&E is also the owner of a profitable nuclear plant (Diablo Canyon) and increasing interests in power derived from waves, biomass, solar panels and the wind. All these activities take place in a 70,000-square-mile service area in Northern and Central California.
