Marcum LLP is a New York-based accounting firm with U.S. offices in California, Connecticut, Florida, Massachusetts, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. Abroad, it has offices in China, Hong Kong, and the Cayman Islands. According to Accounting Today's 2012 rankings, Marcum is the 15th-largest accounting firm in the U.S. by revenue (it booked $274 million in its latest fiscal year). The firm’s varied offerings include accounting services, audits and reviews, litigation support, forensic accounting, tax and estate planning, business management consulting, mergers and acquisition planning, and computer network security. The firm's managing partner is Jeffrey Weiner, who has achieved great success in his career outside of accounting. Weiner's resume includes producing successful box office films The Bourne Supremacy and The Bourne Ultimatum, and he has also appeared on Accounting Today’s “Top 100 Most Influential People in Accounting” list. Meanwhile, the firm itself has appeared on such lists as Crain’s New York Business magazine’s “Best Places to Work in New York City” and INSIDE Public Accounting’s “Best of the Best” list, which is not just based on size or revenue but also on management strategies to “sustain positive growth and longevity during good times and bad”; other criteria include revenue growth, profitability, human resources, management of resources, and rewards to owners. Currently, Marcum employs more than 900 people, including 138 partners.
