Summer associates

Hinshaw & Culbertson's summer associate program is intended to give law students an overview of the firm. Rather than focus on one or two potential preferences, summer associates rotate through each of the firm's departments. As the firm describes its goal, "We aspire for the program participants to have a thorough understanding of our client base and the work environment they would experience as full-time associates." A growing number of the firm's 27 offices participate in the summer associate program, so don't think that your options will be limited to Chicago or the other major Illinois branches.
