ABOUT THIS COMPANY:

More than just clicking away

Up to a point, one could easily say that Eastman Kodak and the photography industry were inextricably entwined, and after more than four years of restructuring, the company is more than taking snapshots.  Since it invented the first digital camera in the 1970s, Kodak foresaw the upcoming digital revolution and sought out opportunities to diversify beyond chemical photography.  Kodak shifted its focus to digital photography and printing, commercial graphics, printing and cinematography.  The company also manufactures high-tech sensors and organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs).  It also holds interests in inkjet printing, photo manipulation software and other key parts of the digital photo spectrum.

Tips from the inside

Picture yourself at Kodak

Kodak's careers site offers information on opportunities for students, daily life at the company and the advantages of a career at the photo firm.  There are three salaried programs in which students can get their feet wet.  In Rochester, N.Y.; Windsor, Colo. and Dayton, Ohio, Kodak offers co-ops for high schoolers and associate co-ops (AOS) and cooperative internships for college students.  All must register on the Kodak website first, and positions are posted there for all but the AOS jobs (contact your college career center for details on those).
