ABOUT THIS COMPANY:
No longer No. 3 in the skiesUp through October 2008, in terms of revenue, Atlanta-based Delta Air Lines was the third-largest U.S. carrier, behind American and United. (The company filed for Chapter 11 protection in September 2005, and successfully emerged from bankruptcy at the end of April 2007.) Together with its network of regional carriers -- including its Comair and Atlantic Southeast subsidiaries -- Delta took off 2,533 times every day.

Getting Hired
Tips from the inside
Work your way up, up, upFor those who want to team up with Delta, the company's career web site (www.delta.com/about_delta/career_opportunities) has the lowdown on open positions in the air and on the ground. These are searchable by job title, division and location. If your browsing of the listings turns up a good fit, you'll need to create a job profile with the web site before uploading cover letters and resumes online.
